Meeting Minutes

Opening:

The regular meeting of Omaha N-Trak was called to order at 4:00 PM on 26 August, 2007 at Harvey Swangers by Scott Crites, President.

Present:

A.        Approval of Agenda

The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed.

B.        Approval of Minutes

The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as distributed.

C.       Treasurers Report

Richard Ralston reported:

D.        Open Issues

We need to attempt to eliminate the bumps between modules.  Please file down where the expanders go for the next show.

Need three phones for new DCC.  Harvey will obtain and Dave will make an engraved face plate.

DCC operators watch your trains at show.  (as stated in previous minutes)

Don’t mess with controllers unless more than one engine is having issues.

E.         New Business

Two Shows coming up

1. Western Heritage NMRA at Burke High School.  Set up is Friday, September 7^th, 6-9pm and the show is Saturday, September 8^th, 9-5pm and Sunday, September 9^th, 10-4pm.  Scott is putting together an email of who will attend.
2. GOSOME show at Council Bluffs Family Life Centre.  Set up is Friday, November 2^nd, about 6 or 7pm.  The show is one day Saturday, November 3^rd, 9-4pm.  Address is 140 Kingsville.  Set up time and size of layout is still pending.  They are expecting a good turn out.

Some ideas for future direction of the club include;

-There was talk of unifying layout, scenery theme and backdrops.

-There is a need for inside corners.  This has the possibility to allow our club to have more modules at a show and can be more appealing to the viewing public.

-Still a possibility for permanent exhibit at UP museum.  This will most likely be an ongoing subject.

-The possibility of a sign up sheet for running trains at shows.  This would be done to ensure that there are enough members attending to the operation of trains at any given time.

-We discussed whether members should or should not be encouraged to build a module.  Possible other option for non-owners would be to take care of the clubs corner and or yard modules.

Meeting was adjourned at 5:15 PM by Scott Crites.  The next general meeting will be held at 4:00 PM on September 23, 2007 at Harvey Swanger’s.
