Open Issues
-
The Christmas operating
schedule at UP museum in Council Bluffs was reported to be: December 18,
set up and January 2, tear down. Days of operation are to be December 19,
22, 23, 26, 29-31, and Jan. 2 during regular museum hours. Richard Ralston
also informed the club that we had been invited to run trains on New
Year’s Eve from about 6 to 9 PM during the “First Night” activities.
Scott Crites agreed to post times on the Omaha N-Trak website. Harvey
Swanger agreed to tow the club trailer to the museum.
-
It was discussed and agreed that we would accept the
proposal from the Des Moines N-Trak group to jointly operate our layouts
at the Great Train Expo at Mid-America Center on January 30 & 31, 2010.
We agreed to build a new corner connection, which would allow only the
‘red’ line to be used jointly between the clubs. Harvey Swanger agreed to
inquire about bus, hook-ups, and other details, and to contact the Des
Moines group and work them out.
Harvey also agreed to contact the Great Train Expo
management about registration details for our club and the Des Moines
club, so that it would be recognized that our club and the Des Moines club
were separate exhibitor groups for the purposes of awarding the honorarium
to exhibitors.
It was also discussed that another booster may be
needed to power the larger layout. No objection was raised to this
projected expense. The club also agreed to begin the construction at the
next meeting.
